98 Kitties for Ruth.....2006

This was a very simple lap quilt that I made for an elderly friend I used to go to church with, who is now in a nursing home. She was celebrating her 98th birthday and loves cats. So I used cat fabrics and a border print with paw prints. I called it "98 Kitties for Ruth" because I there are easily that many in the cat fabric.....I counted to make sure!
She just turned 100 this month, does not look a day older, and still is in good health! She may out-live the rest of us.

I use that pattern a lot. It works for so many different fabrics and is so easy--can be done in different sized blocks, too.

Katney: Yes, when you need something in a hurry, it is fast and easy....either that or 4-patches or 9-patchs! I have some of those, too :-)

What a great lap quilt and I imagined she was thrilled getting it.

You've just given me inspiration for a drawing, if I get around to it.

love seeing your quilts, as ALWAYS.

Sandy: Always glad to give inspiration....looking forward to seeing whatever you create! She is a very sweet little lady. She told me this year that she is "just as mean as ever"....hope I'm that feisty when I'm 100!
