"2 Scoops, please....." 2008

Not necessarily a fall quilt, but my favorite of the moment! I took a class in February (?) of this year, taught by Janet Jones Worley. The class was for her Chocolate Ripple quilt from the book " Quilts for Ice Cream Lovers". Mine ended up looking like a forest rather then ice cream.....since those are my favorite colors......so I named it ""2 Scoops, please.....1 scoop chocolate mint, and 1 scoop carmel nut sundae".When it came time to finish it, I let my favorite long-arm machine quilting expert have it and just told her to put leaves in the green areas and whatever she wanted elsewhere. Linda Bohlen does a wonderful job with that sort of instruction and I just love what she did!

.......and she did these lovely wreaths in the corners! Wow!
This is another lap size quilt, but bigger!.......49" X 60".
I took the class to learn the technique for making the "delectable mountain" style border and it is such an easy technique! I can't wait to use it again.
There is a beautiful leaf print fabric on the back, which I forgot to take a picture of. Will add that and label later.
Ozma thinks that I should let her have the quilt......no way!

I had fun taking it outside and posing it in the leaves and flowers after I had the edge finished.
I haven't made a label yet, but since I hope to hang this one in our local quilt show in 2009, I will make one sometime....probably a leaf with the information on it.

Another beauty. Great sense of color coordination you have.

I'm really enjoying this blog.

Sandy: This is one of the best quilts I ever made. I really enjoyed working on it and taking a class is a great way to make sure you finish a project :-) It's my current "snuggling under, book reading" quilt even though it doesn't have flannel on the back.
