I finally quilted this Sudoku lap quilt on the machine. Any machine quilting is a struggle for me....even straight line like this one. Took me all day and I was so glad to be done with it.
I'm still sewing down the binding so only two sides are done in the photo. It was interesting to see a Sudoku puzzle done in fabric, because many of the same fabrics end up next to each other consistently, which I did not realize until seeing it done "visually". And of course you can not change that and still have a correct solution to the puzzle! Would be fun to do a kid's "I spy" quilt this way.
This was suppose to be a Christmas present for one of my sisters, so it is about time I got it done! I really loved the colors and fabrics in it. These are my favorite colors in quilts usually....green, purple, black. I have one that I made for myself, too in different colors.....now I just have to psych myself up to quilt another one!......but not for a while.

Oh, I like this...I have been checking back every few hours to see if you posted this yet. Nice job and I like the colors.
Rose: I had some trouble getting the photos downloaded and then got side-tracked by the Super Bowl :-) At least I didn't get any puckers and the quilting turned out OK. But I sure got tired of feeding through over and over on all those straight lines.
I love the colors of this quilt. I am sorry you are having such a hard time with machine quilting. I just can't do hand quilting anymore so it has to be machine for me. You did a great job.
W. Latane Barton: I've tried to learn the free motion quilting but don't practice enough to feel comfortable with it...especially on a gift quilt! I'm terrible at hand quilting too! I really prefer to let someone else do the quilting for me on a longarm!
that is so neat, I should make one of those as I am a Sudoku fanatic!!

Gil: It is an easy quilt to do, since it's just squares. Just pick out 9 fabrics you like and cut the squares. The fun is in working the puzzle and then making sure you follow it :-) I love working the puzzles, too! I do the daily one in the paper and have several books around the house as well. I do them when we travel while Mike drives.
It came out great! It's very pretty with the colors you chose! ~karen
Wow, beautiful Mary.
