Small projects....2nd Monday sewing group

I haven't been doing a lot of quilting, so I haven't had anything to post. On the 2nd Monday of each month, a small group meets at Red Bank Library for a morning of working on hand projects and .......talking!I was doing blanket stitch around the feathers of this little turkey. It is going to be a wall hanging to put in the silent auction at our quilt show in September.
Another woman was working blanket stitch on this Halloween quilt...very cute!

Marti was doing this weaving and she is then going to add a crocheted baby carriage. Should look wonderful when done.
I was so busy working for a change that I didn't take any other photos!

At home I finished the turkey and added borders. However I think the brown border "overpowers" the whole thing and plan to cut an inch off all the way around before quilting it.

Another little project to donate to the auction. A little velvet pillow with crazy stitch work. I'm practicing up to start on those 4 Crazy Quilt Christmas stockings that my sister is expecting this year! Must start those soon. Real soon. Maybe this week.
That is about all I have managed to get done lately in quilting.

Hey there, Mary - usually don't comment here, though I do pop over from time to time to take a peak of your quilting prowess. I met Marlene at our little blogfest and she's a quilter as well. She claims she's only been quilting for a year-looks like many years to me, as her work looks so good!
One of her favorite fabric suppliers is a store called "Fat Quarter World" I'm sure you know about them, but just in case, thought I'd send their name along.
Here a link to Marlene's post about them: http://tiny.cc/58FFI
(The part about her cat starting her house on fire can be found here: http://tiny.cc/95XCa)
AS I said to Marlene - LONG winded I am this morning and I really must go and pick the world's biggest zucchini. I'm either stuffing it or making it into a canoe.

You have to copy and paste the links, don't know who they aren't clickable. Pooh!

Annie: I read this a long time ago and never answered your comments :-) Thanks for the link...I did visit her site. Quilting is a lot of fun and even beginners turn out lovely stuff. Some times I still feel like a beginner. I still don't do the actual quilting process very well. Many quilters (I'm one of them), have others machine quilt their quilts for them and that produces many lovely things much faster!

Sandy: Thanks! I used to be in a craft group and we did a turkey like this on sweatshirts and sold them. It is a fast and easy design. Hope it sells!
